Why Focusing on Just ONE Cause of Your Pain Is a Recipe for Disaster
Hello there,
A common pattern we see when working with our clients is that most assume there is only one cause of their pain, and that if they find and fix that one problem, they will be pain-free. Sadly, this way of thinking is one of the biggest reasons people live with pain for years.
In our experience, there is almost always more than one contributing factor to your pain.
The human body is not like a machine with a single broken part. It is a complex system where muscles, nerves, movement patterns, stress, sleep, past injuries, and beliefs all influence one another.
Pain may start as a simple strained muscle or torn ligament, but over time, if the problem is left untreated, other factors begin to layer onto the pain, such as muscle spasms, pinched nerves, and altered movement patterns. These issues can worsen the original pain and even create new pain.
Recovery does not come from finding the “one” cause of your pain. It comes from understanding all the factors that keep your pain going and systematically addressing them.
