The difference between healed and feeling better
This week we are going to talk about the difference between healed and feeling better.
As we are the only place to go for pain we find that all our clients have been suffering for a long time before they start with us.
Their pain has sometimes started suddenly, out of nowhere and has been coming and going for years.
They often tell us “ I was feeling so much better a few months ago but now…. it is worse than it has ever been”.
Let’s look at what is going on.
There are two main types of physical pain. Pain that is a result of an injury and chronic pain.
Pain from an injury is just that. You are injured, twisted your ankle or had surgery, and the pain you feel is because of that injury. As the body heals that pain goes away.
However chronic pain is different, it may have started with a previous injury or just came out of nowhere. It always goes quiet then comes back then quiet again. Quite doesn’t mean it’s gone. Over time it just gets worse. No matter how many pills you take or what you try.
The difference between healed and feeling better is the following.
Healed means the problem is completely gone, never to return. Feeling better means “At the moment, it is not that bad”.
Feeling better is like having a leaking roof when it’s a gorgeous sunny day outside. As the roof isn’t leaking right now, does that mean the leak has been healed?
No. It just means right now, the problem isn’t as bad.
When it does rain the leak seems worse than before. The more it rains the more the leak gets progressively worse.
Only when you bring in a professional roofing company to completely fix the cause of the leak, will it be gone for good. AKA healed
So let me ask you, is your pain feeling better just to come back again later?
Or do you want it healed?
