When you locked up with pain, read this

Hey all

This is second article in my series on the best advice I ever heard series.
This week I am talking about neck pain.
I think the reason Neck pain is so prevalent these days is because of the way we live our lives.

Almost all of us spend most of the day sitting down behind a computer working and most of us very rarely exercise. It is just a fact of our lives these days.
We may start off sitting perfectly in the morning but by 10 our bodies are already tired of sitting and we slouch over and stick our neck out.

Over many months of this is can often lead to neck pain. Muscles get accustomed to the new bad position and this makes them stiff and tight. This stiffness can lead to pain.

The best advice I ever heard for neck pain is stretching the muscle called Levator Scapulae. It is a muscle in the neck that is responsible for lifting our shoulders up and is often the problem child in neck pain.
The stretch is
simple.Place your hand on your head. Turn your head to your armpit (same side of the hand on your head is). Tilt your chin down to your armpit. Same side as the hand on your head.It is as if you are smelling your armpit.

Hold that 30 seconds each side and see if that helps you.
The next thing that I want to you try is sitting with good posture while at your desk.

This is what you should aim for.
Sit up straight with your shoulders back and head up.

As you are working try to keep that position. Once you feel like you are sagging, straighten yourself up.

When you find it hard to straighten up or you have sat down for 45 minutes, which ever comes first its time to take a break.
Get up from the chair and move around. Take a few minutes and walk around before sitting back down.

If you have tried those two things and you find that you pain is not getting better.
Or it is getting progressively worse it is time to do something about it.
We have helped many people rid themselves of their neck pain. We can do the same for you.
