COVID-19: A message of optimism in these uncertain times
During times of uncertainty, you need hope.
Dear Fellow South Africans
This is a message of hope and optimism in these uncertain times.
Times of uncertainty brings fear. The fear of the unknown.For many of you, that fear manifests in many ways. Fear of no food and medicine for myself and my family in the shops. Will I lose my job and be able to provide for my family because of the economic harm this lockdown will cause?
Some might just be afraid because they do not know what tomorrow will bring.
These are uncertain times. It is normal to be afraid.
Many of you will remember uncertain times of the past. Like those times and now, they will pass.
In time things will get better.
In times like these were are faced will challenges.
I challenge you to rise to those challenges and show yourself, your family and God that when it is asked of you, You SHINE.
Those challenges may take the form of an opportunity to help someone in need. To look after those less fortunate and elderly.
To buy only what you need and not what you need to feel safe.
This is the time to shine and show the world what is the depth of your generosity and character.
In life, we are given opportunities disguised as challenges and obstacles. Look out for these opportunities to help your neighbour and shine bright so the world knows your worth.
Stay at home. Only go out if you need to. Buy only what you need. Wash your hands. Avoid the elderly and ill when you feel sick. Make use of this time to do all the things you have been putting off for months.
Let us all come together and SHINE. NOT just for ourselves but for those around us.
LUKE 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
To all my friends and colleagues in health care. This is the time you were made for. The time for which you have trained and prepared for.I know you will show yourself and the world that you are exceptional beyond words.
I pray that God gives you unending endurance and understanding.
