Chronic Pain: A SHOCKING discovery
Hello
This week I want to tell you about a shocking discovery about fibromyalgia and having pain for a long time.
This study was done on 384 000 people in the UK between the ages of 40-69 who said that they have pain in one more area.
They found that the risk of all causes of mortality (Death) was higher in people with:
Neck or shoulder pain
Back pain
Hip pain
Knee pain
The risk of all causes of death was even higher with those that had pain in more than one area.
This research suggests that supporting healthy lifestyle behaviours such as exercise, not smoking and not taking opioid pain killers regularly over a long time were important ways to decrease the chance of death associated with pain.
What I read in this study is that is very hard or even impossible to live a healthy lifestyle and do things like exercise when you are in pain.
When all you have pain, the focus becomes on making the pain better, not on making your life better and healthier.
If you ever needed a reason to get help, this is should be it.
